Competition Law in Brazil and in the EU: the soccer championships’ broadcasting rights case
Abstract
This paper explores the application of competition law in Brazil and in the European Union. Although the applicable rules are similar in both jurisdictions, there are significant differences between them, mainly at the institutional level. These differences are emphasized by the soccer games’ broadcasting rights case study. The results show that the analyzed jurisdictions tend to generate case law only partially compatible.
