SENSAÇÃO DE INSEGURANÇA PÚBLICA NO BRASIL: UMA ANÁLISE ESTRUTURAL DAS VULNERABILIDADES E DO EFEITO DA VITIMIZAÇÃO DIRETA

Abstract

Este estudo tem por objetivo analisar os fatores que aumentam as probabilidades de um determinado grupo (considerando as características de vulnerabilidade física e socioeconômica, área geográfica e vitimização) ser mais inseguro do que outros no Brasil em três níveis pesquisados (domicílio, bairro e município). Nos procedimentos metodológicos adotados são modelo econométrico logit, devido à característica das variáveis dependentes do modelo (qualitativos) e os dados da Pesquisa Nacional de Amostras e Domicílios - PNAD de 2009. Variáveis que representam vulnerabilidades socioeconômicas, físicas e dimensões geográficas mostraram impactos estatisticamente significativas, no entanto os resultados dependem dos níveis pesquisados. O perfil da pessoa insegura no Brasil é caracterizada em grande parte por ser uma mulher, não-brancos, os moradores de regiões urbanas e metropolitanas, menos educação e baixa renda per capita. O medo do crime seria fortemente afetado pela vitimização direta.
