This article analyzes the symbolic form of mythos, categorized as legitimate knowledge by the neo-Kantian Ernst Cassirer, a philosopher of culture. It presents a theoretical, conceptual, and philosophical research, based on four Cassirer’s works: Language and Myth, The Myth of the State, Philosophy of Symbolic Forms – Mythical Thought, and Essay on Man. His philosophical postulates qualify, give autonomy to the mythos, and establish complementarity between different forms of knowledge.
