Near-death experiences according to David Hume's concept of perception

Abstract

This article aims to shed light on Near-Death Experiences, hereafter abbreviated as NDEs. It provides a brief analysis of NDEs from the perspectives of David Hume and Edmund Gettier. It delves into the reason why individuals fear death, which is something unknown that we have as an imminent certainty. Those who have been at the border between life and death report strong impressions of the experience, resulting in a drastic change in life and attitudes. Foundational beliefs in God and life after death are universal reports experienced by those who have had this experience, which confront many of their imperfect ideas and notions about transcendental things.
