#spedupsong, Attention Economy and TikTok
The strategy of fast-paced music in the global music industry

The global music industry has experienced significant changes as a result of the popularity of the trend of fast-paced music on TikTok and streaming platforms. With an approach inspired by case study method, this article aims to reflect about the reasons and context of the trend of fasted-tracks as a music industry’s marketing strategy, as well as its relationship with a possible crisis in generation Zs attention - called here as “tiktokization of attention”. As objects of analysis, the article uses the hashtags #spedupsongs, #speedupsongs, #spedup and #speedup on TikTok and the profiles of content creators Ex7stence, Kuya Magik and xxtristanxo on the app. In addition, this work has as analysis objects the hashtags #spedupsongs, #speedupsongs, #spedup and #speedup in TikTok and the profiles of content creators Ex7stence, Kuya Magik and xxtristanxo in the application.
