Modelado de la influencia de COIL en competencias globales y permanencia estudiantil en educación superior

Este estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar, mediante la Dinámica de Sistemas, la relación entre la participación en experiencias COIL y el desarrollo de competencias globales que inciden en la permanencia estudiantil en la educación superior. Se adoptó un enfoque sistémico sustentado en los principios del Dynamic Performance Management, que permitió identificar y clasificar variables en recursos estratégicos, impulsores del desempeño y resultados finales, y construir un diagrama de bucles causales que representa las interacciones entre participación en COIL, competencias globales y permanencia. Los resultados muestran que el sistema se organiza en tres subsistemas interdependientes: participación en COIL, competencias globales y permanencia estudiantil. La participación en COIL actúa como puerta de entrada y activa la acumulación de competencias globales, las cuales influyen en variables psicosociales clave (motivación académica, sentido de pertenencia institucional, compromiso académico e integración social virtual) que explican la reinscripción semestral y la permanencia. Asimismo, se identificaron bucles de refuerzo que potencian el impacto formativo de COIL y bucles de balance asociados a la brecha digital y a limitantes personales. El análisis evidencia que COIL puede operar como un mecanismo sistémico para fortalecer la permanencia estudiantil y ofrece un marco conceptual pertinente para orientar decisiones institucionales y futuras simulaciones sobre internacionalización virtual y continuidad académica.
