Abstract

This article presents the potential of the Biotechnology sector in Brazil and explores the strategic opportunities and benefits of international cooperation for strengthening the sector in the country, including as a possible transition from an economy based on the exploitation of forest resources to one grounded in high-tech products, with low environmental impact and sustainable use of biodiversity. Simultaneously, it presents South Korea as a viable partner and highlights how public-private collaborations, technology transfer, and scientific exchange can drive sustainable economic development, strengthen the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS), and position Brazil as a global player in the bioeconomy.
