Abstract

The present production has for objective to answer the question on which reason would have taken the cangaceiro Jararaca died in the city of Mossoró- RN to turn saint. Through one it searches bibliographical we got answers not many consensually and them they are in the theory of bode expiatory of the Frenchman René Girard. The result is that the cangaceiro one passes of maleficent the beneficial one, a time that, it is the causer of the violence in the city, but at the same time its death brings peace and order it and if it ended the existing conflicts with its death in the community alone could be a saint. It stops in helping them in the formularization of this thesis we will use concepts and descriptions to affirm that this mechanism is the structure not only of myths more than many current histories, narratives and facts. We will not explain everything in exhausting way, but we will launch important notes for the agreement of the reader.
