Visual-plastic regime of comics: historical and technological aspects

Abstract

This research presents a theoretical reflection that rescues the historical path of comics, aiming to analyze the historical and technological evolution of its language, with emphasis on its graphic and plastic advances. The language of comics is discussed throughout the research, as well as some questions regarding its various definitions. It is concluded that the evolution of the media has enabled the development and adaptation of comics to the realities in force, according to their purposes, adding various graphic and stylistic resources to their composition, as well as the change of their plane of expression in detriment of new types of media and the advances in hypermedia technologies favoring their production and dissemination in physical and digital environments.
