Globalization, Liquid post-modernity and education: a reflection on teaching in the digital universe

Abstract

This is a qualitative and bibliographical study, which aims to build a reflection on the theme of teaching in the globalized, post-modern (liquid) and technological contemporaneity, a scenario where a series of questions are involved regarding the impact of the digital universe on our lives, highlighting the importance of building critical awareness, reflective and prepared for the digital experience. From the contextualization of guiding themes to the debate of authors such as Santos, Bauman, Lévy, Castells, Gabriel, Fava, among others, it is clear that the social effects of experiencing the world through liquid post-modernity end up being reflected, too, in the experience people's digital about the digital universe: liquid, ephemeral, confused and chaotic, without critical deepening or content filter. Therefore, we highlight the practice of Media Education as a path, to the educational scenario, for the formation of people capable of consciously experiencing the state of the cybridized digital world in which we live, having its benefits and possibilities not only assured to teachers and students, but also democracy and social welfare itself.
