Considering fashion as a symbolic system of communication and identity, and highlighting the impact of digitalization on the fashion industry, which was intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic, we believe that digital fashion brings new challenges and possibilities both for creation and use. In this work, we aim to present some notes on this phenomenon from a perspective based on the semiotics proposed by Charles S. Peirce. By analyzing pieces such as the digital dress 'Iridescence,' we reflect on the dissolution of the barriers between the physical and the digital, while also highlighting the role of blockchain technology in ensuring the exclusivity and authenticity of these creations. Finally, we suggest that digital fashion represents a space for self-expression where physical limitations are overcome, bringing new dynamics to consumption and identity in contemporary society.
