This article consists of an analysis of the curatorial text used in the exhibition Modernos Contemporâneos Volume 1, which brings together the collections of the museums of two Amazonian universities, in Belém do Pará, with works by 56 artists. Based on this excerpt, the aim is to understand this textual result of curation from an approximation between the fields of art and communication, especially in the processes of production of meanings. The curatorial text presented in the exhibition was subjected to content analysis to identify key elements applied to assist in the understanding of the exhibition's viewers, and, subsequently, to propose a dialogue through the authors José Luiz Braga (2015), Ciro Marcondes Filho (2019) and Vera França (2017). In the final considerations, it is concluded that the curatorial text is an important channel of communication, which goes beyond criticism and exhibition presentation, allowing the public to engage with new aesthetic experiences, making them part of this experience based on the information they receive, but which also carry specific discourses and intentions.
