The ethical challenges of artificial intelligence in journalism
Abstract
The article analyzes the impacts and ethical challenges of using artificial intelligence (AI) in journalism, focusing on the application of this technology in news production and dissemination. The goal is to understand how AI influences journalistic practice, identifying benefits, risks, and recurring ethical dilemmas. The research adopts a qualitative, exploratory approach to contextualize the emergence of AI and its main applications in the profession. The analysis considers concrete cases, highlighting the need for regulation and the role of journalists in the face of automation. The results indicate that, although technology optimizes work and increases productivity, it also poses risks to ethics, press freedom, and information quality.
