Walnice, Os Sertões e Euclides da Cunha

Em 2009, a ensaísta Walnice Nogueira Galvão reuniu no livro Euclidiana um apanhado de seus estudos sobre Euclides da Cunha. De maneira independente, este artigo reconstitui o caminho de Walnice Nogueira Galvão enquanto pesquisadora da obra de Euclides da Cunha, especialmente de Os Sertões, livro produzido pelo escritor sobre a guerra de Canudos, ocorrida em 1897. Pretende-se mostrar, por meio deste “rastreamento” da produção de Walnice Nogueira Galvão, a presença de vários temas pertinentes à Comunicação, abordados na sua tese de livre-docência, nos seus artigos jornalísticos ou de cunho científico, nos prefácios e na atividade de edição crítica de documentos jornalísticos sobre a cobertura da Guerra de Canudos, bem como do próprio livro maior de Euclides da Cunha.
