Author Guidelines

Manuscript Submission Instructions:

Manuscript submission includes the following documents:

  • Main manuscript in editable format (Word).
  • Supplementary document containing a mini CV of all authors, including: Full name, Highest degree, Institutional affiliation and ORCID iD registration number).

Manuscript Characteristics

The manuscript must have a maximum of 9,000 words, including all elements (body of text, references, figures and tables). The writing style should be direct and objective, but without being superficial. Avoid excessive jargon.

The first page should include:

Title of the article (in Portuguese and English).

Structured abstract (maximum 250 words) containing:

  • Objective
  • Methodology
  • Results
  • Practical/Managerial Implications
  • Social Implications

Between three and five keywords.

Abstract (summary in English with the same content as the abstract).

Keywords (in Portuguese and English).

Indicate the alignment of the research with up to three UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The body of the article should begin on the second page, without identifying the authors to ensure anonymity. The structure of the manuscript can follow the usual sections: Introduction, Theoretical Framework, Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusion. Systematic review articles, bibliometric studies, theoretical essays and other types of work may adopt a different structure, as long as they meet the objectives of the publication and are appropriate to the type of study carried out.

Formatting:

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12, throughout the text.
  • Line spacing: single.
  • Alignment: justified.
  • Margins: top and left – 3 cm; bottom and right – 2 cm.

Citations and References:

  • Citations must follow the author-date format (APA standard), including page numbers when necessary.
  • Complete references should be listed in alphabetical order at the end of the manuscript, including the DOI whenever available.

Illustrations and Tables

  • All figures and tables must be editable and presented according to APA standards, with informative captions and sources.
  • Submit original files of figures and tables (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), if applicable.

Bibliographic references should follow APA style and contain only the works cited in the text.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The contribution is original and unpublished and is not being reviewed for publication elsewhere, otherwise shall be justified in Comments to the Editor.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, or RTF (they do not exceed 5MB).
  • The URLs referenced were informed.
  • The text is single-spaced, using one source of 12-points; employs italics rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); figures and tables are included in the text, not the end of the document as attachments.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines in About the Journal.
  • The identification of authorship of the work was removed from the file and the Properties option in Word, thus ensuring the confidentiality of the criteria reviewed if submitted for peer review (eg articles), according to the instructions found in Securing the Blind Peer Evaluation.

The authors, as copyright holders of the submitted article, and according to the Brazilian Law nº. 9610/98, agree to release the copyright of the referred article to the Journal of Knowledge Management and Information Technology and allow its free distribution with no claim for copyright, by means of the Portal of Electronical Journal Eletrônicas of UCB, for research use, printing and/or download by Internet, from the acceptation date by the RGCTI Editorial Board.
