Conformity Assessment of the General Personal Data Protection Law in Federal Education Institutions in Paraná through the use of Open Data

Abstract

Privacy is a concern for managers, mainly due to the unauthorized use of data in cases of leaks and misuse of personal data. The GPD General Personal Data Protection Law was created to regulate the processing of personal data in organizations. The objective of this work is to analyze how the LGPD is being adapted in federal educational institutions in Paraná: Federal University of Paraná, Federal Technological University of Paraná, Federal Institute of Paraná and Federal University of Latin American Integration through open data from the point from the citizen's point of view. The institutional pages were evaluated and it was verified whether there are means of informing citizens, such as means of communication about the law, means of contacting the person responsible for data protection, among others. The methodology applied was documentary research, carried out on institutional pages and analysis of the data obtained. It was found that institutions have not yet fully adapted their institutional pages. This study contributes to the compliance with the law in these institutions, evaluated from the citizen's perspective.
