Abstract

The Brazilian Ministry of Health (MH) is responsible for the Unified Health System that produces continously a large amount of information. However, the discovery of insights from its databases is still incipient. The use of Machine Learning techniques makes it possible to explore the capacity of predictive models in order to produce knowledge from business data. In this paper an application of econometric strategies, along with linear regression, is presented to extract information for decision support. The objective is to improve the analysis capacity of the federal manager regarding medium and high com-plexity health actions and services.
