Abstract

This research aimed to understand the current state of the knowledge management approach in the public sector, using a bibliometric analysis. To achieve this objective, a search was carried out in the Scopus database, inserting the terms "knowledge management" and "public administration", as well as "knowledge management" and "public administration" and "society", with a time interval between 2002 and 2022. Initially, 376 documents were found with these terms. After applying five filters - limiting the selection to scientific articles related to the topic, with non-zero citations, inOrdinatio greater than zero and with the specified time interval -, we obtained a final sample of 18 articles relevant to the exam. The main results indicate the need for knowledge management in the public sector, both to promote practices and to optimize existing processes.
