Technology transfer versus milk production: an analysis of the full balde program in the municipality of Resende Costa/MG

Abstract

Milk production is present throughout the Brazilian territory and small producers represent a significant volume of national production. This production is a relevant component of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country and the state of Minas Gerais assumes a significant position in this activity. Due to the importance of this activity, Brazil has programs to support the smallholder, including the Balde Cheio Program. In this context, this research aims at analyzing the relationship between dairy production versus technologies transferred by the Balde Cheio Project in a farm situated in the municipality of Resende Costa / MG. Through a case study approach, conducted through a structured interview, this research is characterized by the descriptive nature, with quantitative documentary analysis approach. As a result, it is possible to infer that there is improvement in milk production in relation to the transfer of technology proposed by the Balde Cheio Program, but that not all success should be associated with said program.
