Harmonizing global standards and local practices: a comparative analysis between ISO 30401:2018 and the SBGC Reference Model

Abstract

The article analyzes the integration of the ISO 30401:2018 standard with the SBGC Reference Model, discussing how these knowledge management (KM) frameworks can be jointly applied in Brazilian organizations. The research is qualitative and comparative, utilizing a literature review, document analysis, and case studies in Brazilian companies that have adopted both models. Results indicate that this integration can optimize KM practices, promoting operational efficiency, skills development, and continuous innovation. Case studies illustrate practical benefits and challenges of this combination, providing guidelines for managers interested in harmonizing international standards with local practices. The implementation of these recommendations aims to enhance knowledge retention, increase competitiveness, and foster the continuous improvement of organizational performance.
