Innovation and technology: learning from innovative countries

Purpose: To analyze international lessons and practices related to innovation and technology, with the aim of identifying patterns, strategies, and critical success factors that can inform policies and actions in other contexts. Methodology: This research adopts a qualitative and descriptive approach. Results: The cases analyzed highlighted the importance of collaboration between universities and companies in boosting and developing inventions. The registration of intellectual property and the development of products that meet consumer needs were also key lessons drawn from the cases studied. It is expected that the findings of this research will shed light on and inspire the innovation process in Brazil. Practical/managerial implications: Companies should strengthen partnerships with universities, value intellectual property, and focus on consumer needs. Additionally, incentive policies and an innovation-oriented organizational culture are essential for competitiveness. Social implications: Innovation drives socioeconomic development by generating skilled jobs and improving quality of life. It also promotes social inclusion by expanding access to new technologies and opportunities.
