This article aims to present the condensed version of the undergraduate thesis “Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women: Challenges for the Realization of Women's Health Rights in Rwanda and Kenya.” Accordingly, it addresses the challenges related to implementing the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women with regard to health issues in Rwanda and Kenya, illustrating how these countries approach the realization of women’s rights and gender equality within health variables, specifically family planning, maternal mortality, and female genital mutilation. The primary authors used throughout the research were Piovesan (2012), Garbin (2021), Guerra (2011), and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (1979), all of which were analyzed through bibliographic reviews of primary and secondary sources using descriptive, exploratory, and comparative research. Finally, the findings reveal how these countries structure themselves to promote the realization of women’s health rights. Rwanda has demonstrated more development than Kenya in health policies, based on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women.
