Abstract

Information and communication technologies have transformed the way we teach, learn, access knowledge and the school itself. This change requires schools and teachers to take ownership of these tools and develop the technological and pedagogical skills to implement them in the teaching-learning process. This process is not always easy, given the lack of infrastructure, material resources and teacher training. The aim of the study was to carry out a bibliographical survey of the main technological tools used by elementary school teachers, and to this end, scientific articles published on the Periódicos platform of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes) between 2020 and 2023 were selected. In the 31 articles selected, 49 technological tools used by elementary school teachers were found, including YouTube, cell phones, WhatsApp, Google Meet and Google Classroom, as the most mentioned by the authors. The use of technological tools in education goes far beyond what we can understand and just knowing how they work does not guarantee better or transformative teaching and learning. It is therefore necessary to reflect on how their use can contribute to a more active role for students and how they can add to the work of teachers in education.
