Authors

Abstract

The objective was to investigate the perception of Physical Education teachers in the city of Macapá regarding the sport Oliverbol. A qualitative research was carried out in which 10 schools participated with a sample of 20 teachers. A questionnaire was applied to find out what the participants knew about the researched modality. The results indicated that the fundamentals of the modality are confused with motor gestures from other sports with similar characteristics. The insertion of this sport in the school environment suffers difficulties to the detriment of the hegemony of others already known to the students. The study revealed that this modality is able to meet the needs of spaces and materials for classes, it is little known in the school environment, seen as a game and not as a sport.
