Abstract

The relationship between sports and health promotion can be studied considering: health promotion as an outcome of sports; health promotion through sports; health promotion in sports; collaboration between health institutions and sports and the sports promoter of health. Our purpose was to map and analyze health promotion strategies implemented in sports clubs within the Brazilian context. This is a narrative review, which search in Scielo, Virtual Health Library, and Google Scholar, conducted in February 2025. After the screening process, seven references were analyzed and included. The results show that scientific production on the topic is concentrated on the physical and psychosocial aspects of health, with emphasis on studies that address sport as a tool for improving quality of life and promoting social inclusion. The studies reinforce the potential of sport as a strategy for comprehensive health promotion, encompassing not only disease prevention but also physical, mental, and social well-being. However, there is a noticeable scarcity of studies addressing a more complete level of health promotion through sport in Brazil.
