Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The manuscript should be original, unpublished, and not be under consideration by another academic journal; otherwise, it must be justified in "Comments to the Editor".
  • The files for submission are in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, or RTF format (as long as they do not exceed 2MB)
  • URLs for references should be provided when necessary.

  • The article follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in Guidelines for Authors, in the section About the Journal.

  • Author identification must be removed from the manuscript and all submitted materials, thus guaranteeing the blind peer-review process.

Author Guidelines

Comunicologia welcomes submissions from holders of Masters or PhD degrees. Master's students' submissions will be evaluated, provided they are co-authored with Master’s or PhD degrees holders.

· The manuscript must be unpublished in Brazil and must not have been submitted elsewhere while it is under review in this journal. If the manuscript has been previously published in any conference proceedings, you should disclose this information during the submission process;

· The manuscript must be formatted following the Template, which contains the details on the Brazilian Standard Organization (ABNT) formatting style

· Comunicologia accepts manuscripts written in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. The title, abstract and keywords must be informed in all three languages. The types of manuscripts accepted are: original articles (either literature review or of theoretical and empirical nature), book or media content review, and interviews.

· Articles must have an extension of 30,000 to 50,000 characters with spaces, including abstracts and references;

· Book and media content reviews must have an extension of 3,500 to 5,000 characters with space, including title, abstract and keywords,

· Interviews must have an extension of 5,000 to 25,000 characters with spaces, including title, abstract and keywords;

· Images (photos, graphs and tables) must be inserted in the article. They should be accompanied by titles, captions and sources, according to instructions contained in the submission template;

· Information and content published in the articles are the sole responsibility of the authors, including permission to reproduce any copyrighted images.

Authors who publish in this journal agree to the following terms:

a. Authors retain the copyright and grant the journal the right to first publication, with the work simultaneously licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License, which allows the article to be shared provided the author and the journal are properly cited.

b. Authors are authorized to take on additional contracts separately, for the non-exclusive distribution of the version of the work published in this journal (e.g., publishing it in an institutional repository or as a book chapter), with acknowledgement of authorship and initial publication in this journal.

c. Authors are permitted and encouraged to publish and distribute their work online (e.g. in institutional repositories or on their personal page) at any point before or during the editorial process, as this can generate productive changes, as well as increase impact and citation of the published work (See The Effect of Open Access).

Privacy Statement

The names and addresses informed in this journal will be used exclusively for the services provided by this publication and will not be made available for other purposes or to third parties.

Peer reviewers are unaware of authors' identities and personal information, as these are only known to the scientific editor.

The list of reviewers of the edition is not mentioned in the respective volume and number of the publication to avoid bias during the peer-review process.
