Potencial anticompetitivo da fusão Oi-BrT: uma análise usando retornos anormais e estudo de eventos

Abstract

O objetivo do presente artigo é investigar os possíveis efeitos decorrentes de uma das mais discutidas operações de fusão dos últimos anos: a operação BrT-Oi. Esta análise foi realizada de acordo com a metodologia de Eckbo (1983) e Hosken e Simpson (1998) e os resultados indicam que os efeitos da operação BrT-Oi são de maior competição com respeito aos competidores de menor participação de mercado na telefonia fixa – especialmente a GVT – e de menor competição com os competidores instalados na telefonia móvel (TIM e VIVO).
