INFERENCE ON INSTRUMENTAL VARIABLES MODELS: A NOTE FOR PRACTITIONERS

When using instrumental variables (IV) methods, practitioners learn that two types of residuals may be obtained. We collect a few results from these types of residuals and clarify the use of a goodness of fit measure by Pesaran and Smith (Econometrica, 1994, p.705-710) that may be useful to complement inference on IV estimated regression models.Downloads
