Abstract

This study estimates tourism multipliers for Peru using data from 1988 input-output tables. The results of this study analyse the impact made by 1988 tourism expenditures on output, income, and employment. These findings, compared to the current position of the tourism industry, suggest that its economic importance has been increasing, playing a major role in Peru’s economic development.
