Abstract

This article presents the results of an investigation into the process of biographical negotiation based on four different biographies of the communist leader Luiz Carlos Prestes. We will observe the dispute for memories in the construction of the biography of the “Cavaleiro da Esperança” (Knight of Hope) as a reflection of the intricacies of biographical investigations that start from the respective times and places of production of their authors, namely: Jorge Amado, Boris Koval, Daniel Aarão Reis Filho and Anita Leocadia Prestes.
