Abstract

The article intends to analyze the film Pan-Cinema Permanente (2008), by Carlos Nader, based on the public-private dialectic. We note how the interplay between television and cinema images and intimate and homely images results in a unique biography of Waly Salomão. The article articulates this dialectic to the issue of borders in Salomão's poetics and suggests that this dynamic dialogues with the current reorganization of archives and their ways of narrating the self and the other.
