Abstract

I treat the autobiographical documentaries of Agnès Varda made at the age of 70, 80 and 90, as a trilogy of aging composed of The gleaners and I, The beaches of Agnès and Varda by Agnès. They are essayistic forms tied together by the director's voice-over and by means of a camera that X-rays the body, investigating aging textures. Varda elaborates her process also contemplating the notion of trajectory, configuring artistic testaments elaborated in life.

Author Biography

Tatiana Levin Lopes da Silva, UFRJ/Pós-doutoranda

Pós-doutoranda na UFRJ, no Programa Avançado de Cultura Contemporânea (PACC), onde desenvolve uma pesquisa-criação interativa sobre o envelhecimento feminino. É doutora em Comunicação e Cultura Contemporâneas pela UFBA, com uma pesquisa sobre documentários interativos. Com mestrado na mesma instituição, desenvolveu dissertação sobre o trabalho documental de Agnès Varda, tendo como foco o seu olhar subjetivo e autoral. Graduou-se em comunicação social na PUC-RJ. Especializou-se em realização cinematográfica na New York University (NYU). É atriz formada pela CAL-RJ. Publicou artigos em revistas de circulação nacional e internacional e, com outros autores, os livros Godard, Imagens e Memórias; Narrativas e Conflitos; Ouvir o Documentário: vozes, músicas, ruídos, dentre outros. Participou de congressos nacionais e internacionais, tais como Socine, Visible Evidence, Storybits.
