This article intends to map and make visible other knowledge and epistemologies forged in the Afro-Atlantic diaspora, as alternative political proposals to the colonial, racist and Eurocentric paradigm hegemonic in contemporary culture. At first, we dialogue with diasporic theorists about the concept of Afro-Atlantic diaspora, making this concept credible. In a second moment, other Afro-diasporic knowledge and epistemologies are approached, which highlight other ways of being in the world, other values and forms of struggle, seeking to denaturalize, humanize and deracialize the Other. The potentialities and particularities of Afrodiasporic feminist thought and its intersectional dimension and the epistemology of the crossroads and its anti-colonial vocation are highlighted, as potential strategies to fight epistemic racism in Afro-Brazilian education.
