The article analyzes traces of the history of Jornal do Povo, from Três Lagoas (MS), between the 1940s and 1990s. It was launched in 1949 by PSD leaders and gave rise to the RCN de Comunicação group, hegemonic in the Três Lagoas region. The study uses documentary and bibliographical research as a method. In the analyzed period, the newspaper produced intense discourse in defense of political parties and the 1964 regime, as well as projected three generations of its leaders into the public sphere.
