Abstract

Este artigo aborda o fenômeno da desinformação em um contexto digital, destacando como a tecnologização do ambiente online tem se tornado um facilitador significativo para a propagação de informações falsas. A rápida evolução das tecnologias digitais, como redes sociais online, algoritmos de recomendação e plataformas de comunicação, cria um ambiente propício para a disseminação massiva de conteúdo desinformativo. A revisão de literatura é adotada como metodologia. Analisaremos as causas subjacentes desse fenômeno, seus impactos na sociedade e as possíveis estratégias para mitigar o problema crescente.

Thiago Henrique de Jesus Silva, UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DO PIAUÍ

Master's in Communication from the Postgraduate Program at the Federal University of Piauí (PPGCOM-UFPI). Author of the book "Bolsonaro and COVID-19: Unmasking Disinformation," published by EDUFPI. Member of the research group Journalism, Media, History, and Power - JOMIHIP and the Center for Studies and Research in Communication Strategies (NEPEC/UFPI). Also part of COAR (fact-checking initiative in the Northeast), which is part of the National Network for Combating Disinformation (RNCD). Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the Center for Science and Technology of Maranhão - UNIFACEMA. Experience in Communication and Education, with participation in web journalism websites, digital media management, and as a developer member of the extension project "Mostra Tua Cara Preta," which aimed to combat any form of oppression, including racism, homotransphobia, machismo, heteronormativity, and concluded its activities in 2018. Research focuses on the axis of media, politics, and Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), with an emphasis on concepts such as fake news, post-truth, disinformation, fact-checking, discourse, power, ideology, hegemony, media education, and digital media. Ph.D. in Communication Sciences from the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos (2014), Master's in Brazilian History from the Federal University of Piauí (2007), Specialization in Brazilian History from the Federal University of Piauí (2005), and a Bachelor's degree in History from the Federal University of Piauí (2002). Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in History at the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos (2019). Currently an Associate Professor I in the Social Communication/Journalism program at the Federal University of Piauí, Petrônio Portella Campus. Collaborating Professor in the Graduate Program in Brazilian History at the Federal University of Piauí (PPGHB/UFPI). Has expertise in the areas of History, Communication, and Journalism, with a focus on Media History, primarily working on topics such as journalistic practices, the history of journalism and the press, oral history, memory, media, and power.
