This article addresses the phenomenon that relates the development of technological tools, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), to unethical and criminal behaviors, which result in actions such as the creation of deepfakes. At first, in its creation, the technology was used as an entertainment tool such as, for example, the creation of humorous videos. However, AI is also used to produce false and sexual content, related to the reproduction of gender violence. There is an expansion in the number of cases related to the creation of false sexual content, fake pornographic videos based on AI. Cases cited in this article, such as recent complaints about nude fake produced in school environments in Brazil and the United Kingdom, increased society’s concern and accelerated the discussion. The picture reveals the urgent need for regulation that curbs criminal behavior on networks at a global level and greater accountability of platforms.
