MARAJOARA EVERYDAY LIFE THROUGH THE LENSES OF YOUNG PEOPLE FROM THE ÀWÚRE RIBEIRINHO PROJECT

Abstract

The article investigates photographs produced by young people from the cities of Marajó, as part of ÀWÚRE project. The research analyzes how these images challenge prevailing stereotypes and narratives, offering authentic and mediated representations of cities through their eyes. The images highlight aspects of the urban environment, natural elements, and, intriguingly, the significant presence of boats, highlighting the centrality of the river system in the region.

Ph.D. (2023) at Communication, Culture and Amazon Post-graduate Program (PPGCOM) at Federal University of Pará (UFPA), research line Communication Processes and Mediatization in the Amazon. Has a Master's degree in Communication Sciences (PPGCOM, UFPA, 2019) and a degree in Social Communication from Faculdade Estácio do Pará, with a degree in Journalism. Research member at Technology, Communication, and Cognitive Science (TECCCOG, UNIFAP) and Information & Media Lab (InfoMedia, UFPR) groups.
