Quinto poder em ação no Brasil: disputas por legitimidade e pelo lugar de informar

Abstract

The objective of this work is to observe the emergence of new power relations that are established between journalism and citizens. To do this, we use the concept of the fourth estate and the fifth estate. The chosen object is the profile of Jornal Nacional in "X" and the methodology adopted is Audiovisual Materiality Analysis, which seeks to evaluate audiovisual content in its entirety. As a result, we point to the concept of fifth estate, through its observation in the Brazilian scenario.
