Abstract

The paper analyzes disinformation in the digital age, focusing on the impact of robotics on fact-checking processes over the Covid-19 pandemic. The study analyses the premise which the lack of transparency about the source of disinformation (human or robotic) can difficult the work of fact-checkers. The research is based on Peirce's theory of pragmatism, which emphasizes the importance of inquiry to achieve the truth through the scientific method and semiotic analysis.

É doutoranda em Comunicação pela Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (PPGCOM/UFJF), mestre em Comunicação (2018), especialista em Jornalismo Multiplataforma (2014) e bacharela em Comunicação Social com habilitação em Jornalismo pela mesma universidade. Tem experiência na área de Comunicação, com ênfase em webjornalismo, jornalismo impresso, assessoria de imprensa, jornalismo religioso.

Soraya Maria Ferreira Vieira, Universidade Federal de juiz de Fora

Professora titular da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora, na Faculdade de Comunicação (UFJF-FACOM). É docente permanente do programa de pós-graduação Comunicação e Sociedade PPGCOM. Fez mestrado e doutorado na Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo PUC-SP no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação e Semiótica e Pós-Doutoramento no TIDD - Tecnologias da Inteligência e do Design Digital PUCSP. Lidera o grupo de Pesquisa Conexões Expandidas. Faz parte do grupo de Pesquisa LabArteMíida- Do CTR da ECA USP.
