Abstract

The article analyzes the first season of the series Os Outros through narrative and aesthetic elements to understand its connections to political and social realities. The discussion explores fear as a political affect that shapes hegemonic masculinity, armed violence, and individualism in the characters’ experiences. The series is part of a broader set of audiovisual works that offer critical perspectives on violence in Brazil's sociopolitical landscape in recent years.
