Aesthetic deflation as an expression of gaucherie in Dalton Trevisan

Abstract

This article aims to discuss, based on Roland Barthes' assumptions, the gaucherie procedure, characterized by the use of textual strategies that culminate in an aesthetic project apparently structured by aesthetic deflation. A short story by Dalton Trevisan will be taken as the object of analysis, pointing out the strategies used by the author to compose a scenario of estrangement, irony and challenge to the naive and automated reading of the literary text.

Author Biography

Olinda Cristina Martins Aleixo, FACCAT

É Doutora em Literaturas em Língua Portuguesa pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho, de São José do Rio Preto (UNESP / Ibilce – 2010). Possui graduação em Letras Anglo-Portuguesas pela Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL - 1996), especialização em Literatura Brasileira também pela UEL (1997) e mestrado em Letras pela UNESP de S. J. Rio Preto (2002). Trabalhou durante 15 anos na Faculdade Ernesto Riscali (Olímpia – SP), onde foi professora, coordenadora e diretora, ministrando disciplinas no eixo de Literatura e Ensino de Literatura, Língua Portuguesa e Metodologia do Trabalho Científico. Foi coordenadora dos cursos de Letras e Pedagogia e também atuou na Coordenação de Pesquisa e de Pós-Graduação. Nesta mesma instituição, foi integrante dos NDEs de Letras, Pedagogia e Direito. Lecionou em outras instituições de ensino superior da região de São José do Rio Preto (SP), ministrando disciplinas do eixo de Literatura e Ensino de Literatura. Atualmente, dá aulas na instituição de ensino superior FACCAT, de Tupã. Tem experiência nas áreas de Letras e Pedagogia, com ênfase em Literatura, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Literatura Contemporânea, Teoria Literária, Literatura Infanto-Juvenil e Ensino e aprendizagem de Literatura; e na área de Educação, com ênfase em Formação de Professores.
