Abstract

This article aims to investigate the need to reconsider the teaching of philosophy in high school, taking into account the complexities highlighted by the pandemic, through philosophies of education that engage with elements of Carol Gilligan's ethics of care and Michel Foucault's care of the self. In this context, the article seeks to analyze how the ethics of care and care of the self can provide alternatives to the traditional educational model, often influenced by an individualistic paradigm. It is proposed to consider the skills that can be developed through the teaching of philosophy, which go beyond the pursuit of autonomy, promoting awareness of the interdependence among individuals.
